Number One by Gail Hunter

Gaille Hunter is a graduate of the Philadelphia University of the Arts.  A veritable renaissance woman, she has a Masters in Education and is currently an adjunct Educational Psychology professor.

Gaille’s paintings debuted in February 2002 at the October Gallery, Philadelphia’s premiere African-American venue on gallery row. “Country Porch”, one of the pieces included in her series entitled “Silhouette Children”, is exhibited in the Philadelphia African-American Museum’s 2006 commemorative exhibition – Silent Voices, Loud Echoes”.

As a member of the Woodmere Museum in Chestnut Hill, she showcased “Knowledge” (from the series) in the 2004 Summer members’ exhibit.  Gaille is honored to show her abstract piece entitled “Two Dreams” in the celebrated Powelton Village Ellen Powell Tiberino Museum.  Her most well received series, “Dancer Arrays” and “Silhouette Children”, have been heralded as delightful free-spirited and heart-warming compositions with warm color harmonies.  Cathedral Village exhibited “Silhouette Children” in September 2005 and the Carol Schwartz Gallery in Chestnut Hill, PA.  That series is currently showing at Molasses Creek Home Furnishings in Manayunk, PA.

Reproductions on note cards, ceramic plates and prints are distributed by local galleries and gift shops.

Gaille also writes poetry.  In the spoken word arena her collection “My Velvet Pillow” is regarded as a treasure for daily inspiration.

A woman of rare vision Gaille is determined to let her voice be heard.
