Artist's Statement / Biography
I'm a musician/composer and singer by profession. I'm also a radio announcer (WDIY Allentown), actor (assorted television and movie appearances), celebrity impersonator (Howard Stern) and for ten years I published an independent entertainment newspaper (NICKEL). I currently reside in Easton, PA.
By accident, I came across the movie trailer for the 1956 film, "Mystery Of Picasso". I read a little more about the film and most websites stated that the original works created in the film were purposely destroyed after completion of the film. Struck by inspiration, I tracked down a DVD of the film and took it upon myself to recreate the non-existent works as depicted in the film. Some of the works I am showing in progression to give the viewer an insight into the mind of a great man. In the film, Picasso first used magic markers on a specially prepared canvas, later switching to paint. I've always been up for a challenge and decided to recreate all the works in marker. This is my first attempt at a project such as thins. Previously, I've work as an artist's assistant for drawings made by Easton-based artist/sculptor Karl Stirner.
